I Live in The Lucky Country and I Love It! was a durational performance that took place in Melbourne, Australia, during which the artist performed the simple action of going up and down the steps of Federation Square’s amphitheater steps non-stop for four hours.
At the end of the performance (and as a part of the piece), Sikic got in a taxi to Melbourne airport, where he boarded a flight to Lima, Peru, where he is originally from.
This work was a response to the struggle immigrants go through when trying to establish themselves in their adoptive motherlands.
